Jasper Hill is a leader in the artisan cheese industry. We are a mission-based company working to preserve Vermont’s working landscape by making and aging outrageously delicious cheese. The Jasper Hill Family of Businesses includes two farms, two creameries, a state-of-the-art underground cheese-aging facility, and sales and fulfillment teams.

Position Summary

Tucked away in a series of underground vaults beneath a grassy pasture, the Jasper Hill cheese care team turns and brushes cheeses, salting them, spiking them, washing them in brine, all to transform them from young, bland wheels into some of the country’s most celebrated artisan cheese. We blend centuries-old cheese ripening techniques with the latest scientific understanding in order to coax the highest possible expression from our cheeses. The work is fast-paced and often physical, but allows the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team that’s committed to the highest standards of quality

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Caring for cheese: receiving, turning, packaging, and everything in between

  • Maintain a clean working environment; contribute to ongoing cleaning and maintenance schedules

  • Follow all food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Detail- and process-oriented

  • Able to learn quickly, ask questions, share concerns, seek answers, and problem-solve

  • Computer literate

  • Ability to work on your feet for long stretches and lift 45+ pounds

  • Love of artisan cheese is a plus!
